Byredo

History

Ben Gorham, a Swede with Canadian and Indian roots, was headed for professional basketball before he discovered perfume. With no perfumer's training, he founded Byredo in Stockholm in 2006 and entrusted the writing of his ideas to professional perfumers.

The house stands out for short compositions born of personal memories and for a graphic aesthetic that became instantly recognisable. It expanded into candles, leather goods and make-up before coming under the control of the Puig group in 2022, with Ben Gorham remaining its creative director.
