History

Romano Ricci, great-grandson of Nina Ricci, launched Juliette Has a Gun in 2006. He wanted to shake up some of perfumery's rules and put women, in all their diversity, at the heart of his work; the house's name, pairing a romantic heroine with a weapon, announces this blend of seduction and irreverence.

The house claims a territory between haute couture and provocation, the classic codes of French perfumery and modern freedom. It is behind minimalist compositions, including Not a Perfume, built on a single molecule, and names full of humour. In 2026 it celebrates its twentieth anniversary.
