Halfeti presents itself as a mysterious love story: on the banks of a river, the house imagines a legendary, almost black rose, surrounded by the spices of Levantine markets.
Grapefruit and bergamot open it with liveliness, then an oud accord darkens the rose and makes it last. A deep, spicy woody scent that has become one of the house's best-sellers.

Halfeti in detail
Penhaligon's, founded by a Jermyn Street barber who became perfumer to the court, tells the story of England with humour and panache. Halfeti belongs to its Trade Routes collection, inspired by the trading routes that brought spices, woods and resins to London. Its name is that of a town in south-eastern Turkey, on the banks of the Euphrates.
The house lists its notes without sorting them into stages, and keeps only four materials. Bergamot and grapefruit give a slightly bitter citrus sparkle. Rose brings a dark, velvety floral note. Finally, oud anchors the whole in a deep wood, which Volute reads as spicy and amber.
Halfeti is worn in autumn and winter, by day or by night: a cold day, a dinner, an evening.
Three woody fragrances in our catalogue share its materials: Oud Noir Intense by Fragrance Du Bois brings together bergamot, rose and oud; Drunk Lovers by Born To Stand Out pairs bergamot and grapefruit; No. 89 by Floris, another Jermyn Street house, finds bergamot and rose again in a more classic woody fragrance.
