Clive Christian
The London heir to the Crown Perfumery Company, crowned with Queen Victoria's crown, which signs highly concentrated fragrances with formulas of rare complexity.
Official website(new tab)History
A corset maker from the United States, William Sparks Thomson founded the Crown Perfumery Company in London, which dressed high society in corsets and then in perfumes, lotions and lavender salts. In 1872 Queen Victoria, his client, granted him the right to use her crown: it has topped every bottle of the house ever since. Crab Apple Blossom, inspired by a crab apple tree in bloom outside his Kensington home, became its most famous fragrance.
In 1999 the designer Clive Christian bought the Crown Perfumery Company and gave it his name. The house champions fragrances of at least 20% concentration, whose formulas bring together 120 to 300 ingredients, divided into collections, from the classics of the Original Collection to the historical journeys of the Noble Collection.
