1872 pays tribute to the year the Crown Perfumery Company received the right to bear Queen Victoria's crown. Its bottle, in an emerald green, recalls the refinement of that old house.
The opening brings together pressed citrus, petitgrain, peach and lavender, lifted by rosemary, black pepper and nutmeg. The very herbaceous heart rests on clary sage, which Emperor Nero is said to have used to revive his troops, with jasmine, neroli and musk. Cedar and sandalwood lay a woody base.

1872 Masculine in detail
Clive Christian, the London heir to the Crown Perfumery Company, signs highly concentrated fragrances with very complex formulas. 1872 Masculine belongs to the Original Collection, three pairs of classics offered in masculine and feminine versions. It is a lively aromatic citrus fragrance, presented in parfum concentration.
The official pyramid is very rich. At the top: citrus notes, petitgrain, peach, lavender, rosemary, pepper and nutmeg. The heart brings together clary sage, jasmine, neroli and musk. The base pairs cedarwood, sandalwood and freesia, a woody, slightly floral foundation.
1872 Masculine is worn by day, in spring and summer: at the office, at lunch, or on a day when you want a fresh, polished fragrance.
Three citrus fragrances in our catalogue come close: Elysium Pour Homme by Roja Parfums shares lavender, musk, jasmine and cedarwood; Remarkable People by Etat Libre d'Orange brings together jasmine, pepper and sandalwood; Blenheim Bouquet by Penhaligon's pairs lavender and pepper around lemon.
