History

"Ex nihilo", meaning "created from nothing": in 2013 three luxury insiders, Sylvie Loday, Olivier Royère and Benoît Verdier, founded in Paris the perfume house they dreamed of. They wanted to break free from the conventions of high perfumery by giving creators total freedom.

The house uses the finest natural and synthetic materials without cost constraints, and explores new-generation extracts and biotechnology. Its aesthetic draws on the French avant-gardes of the 1970s and 1980s; its boutiques offer the Osmologue, a system for composing one's own fragrance.
