History

Maison Francis Kurkdjian was born in Paris in 2009 from the partnership of perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, already known for his creations for major houses, and Marc Chaya, who came from business consulting. Their idea: a creative perfumery presented as a wardrobe, in which a single fragrance comes in several textures.

In 2014, Baccarat Rouge 540, conceived for the 250th anniversary of the crystal maker Baccarat, became the house's emblem and one of the most recognisable fragrances of its decade. In 2017 the LVMH group took a majority stake, with both founders remaining at the helm.
