Diaghilev was first created for a Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition devoted to the Ballets Russes, in tribute to their founder, Sergei Diaghilev. It belongs to the Prestige Collection, in which each fragrance tells a story personal to Roja Dove, and, like the man who inspires it, sets out to be too lavish to be forgotten.
The composition is of rare richness: citrus and tarragon in the opening, a bouquet of rose, jasmine, tuberose and violet enhanced with peach and blackcurrant, then a base of oakmoss, patchouli, spices, balsams, leather and civet. A broad, theatrical chypre.

Diaghilev in detail
Roja Parfums, Roja Dove's London house, champions an opulent perfumery. Diaghilev, from its Prestige Collection and signed by Roja Dove, pays tribute to the founder of the Ballets Russes: a lavish chypre presented in parfum concentration, with one of the richest pyramids in our catalogue.
At the top, lemon, bergamot, lime, orange and tarragon bring a lively, aromatic freshness. The heart is a profuse bouquet in which centifolia rose, jasmine and tuberose sit alongside heliotrope, violet, blackcurrant and peach. The base brings together some twenty materials, including spices, oakmoss, patchouli, woods, resins, leather and animalic notes.
Diaghilev is worn in the evening, in autumn and winter: a night at the opera, a formal dinner, a solemn occasion.
Three chypres in our catalogue share many of its materials: Memoir Woman by Amouage brings together clove, tuberose, jasmine, styrax, oakmoss, leather, labdanum and musk; Chypress by Floris pairs bergamot, lemon, jasmine, ylang-ylang, vanilla, musk and patchouli; Hacivat by Nishane finds bergamot, jasmine, patchouli, cedarwood and oakmoss again.
