Frédéric Malle
Frédéric Malle conceived a publishing house for perfume. Each bottle bears the name of the perfumer who composed it, free of constraint, like an author being published.
Official website(new tab)History
Frédéric Malle grew up in the world of perfume: his grandfather, Serge Heftler-Louiche, had founded Parfums Christian Dior. After many years working alongside the perfumers of a major fragrance company, he launched Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle in Paris in 2000.
The principle is that of a publisher: each perfumer composes freely, without marketing constraints, and their name appears on the label like an author's on the cover of a book. In 2014 the house joined the Estée Lauder group, with Frédéric Malle remaining at its head.
