Black Gemstone pays respectful tribute to the Black Stone of Mecca and draws on Pierre Soulages's paintings, where light springs from black. A blend of three cedars, lit by a stroke of Sicilian lemon, opens the composition.
At heart, a dark, almost tarry myrrh, which incense petrifies over a base of teak and tonka. A powerful, meditative mineral woody for winter evenings.

Black Gemstone in detail
Stéphane Humbert Lucas, a painter-perfumer, composes his fragrances like paintings. This one belongs to The 777 Collection, inspired by his travels in the Middle East, and aims to be mineral and spiritual: a dark woody fragrance in which myrrh, cedars and incense evoke the smoke of a place of contemplation.
The official pyramid opens on cedarwood and lemon, a dry, luminous start. The heart is entrusted to myrrh, a resin with bitter, slightly balsamic accents. The base brings together incense, teak, a dense, dry wood, and tonka bean, which softens the whole with a warm note.
It is worn in the evening, in autumn and winter: a quiet evening, a concert, an occasion when you want a fragrance of contemplation rather than seduction.
Three woody fragrances in our catalogue come close: Decision 42 by Amouage shares incense, myrrh and cedarwood, in a spicier composition; Drunk Lovers by Born To Stand Out brings together lemon and cedarwood in an amber woody fragrance; Gypsy Water by Byredo pairs lemon and incense in a brighter woody fragrance.
