Decision 42 extends the question posed by Decision: will the lightning destroy the juniper it strikes, or push it to live more intensely? Quentin Bisch answers with a 42% concentration and a brighter bolt of neroli, cardamom, cinnamon and pink pepper.
The juniper then darkens alongside frankincense, myrrh, sandalwood and a rectified pine tar, smoky and deep. Vanilla and labdanum warm the base of cedarwood and patchouli.

Decision 42 in detail
Amouage, born in Oman, the historic land of frankincense and myrrh, combines the Arabian tradition of perfume with Western perfumery. Decision 42, signed by Quentin Bisch and presented as an extrait, starts from a striking image: lightning striking a juniper tree. The result is a smoky, spicy, resinous woody fragrance.
The official pyramid is particularly rich. At the top, pink pepper, bergamot, cardamom, neroli and cinnamon make for a lively, spicy start. The heart brings together incense, juniper berries, myrrh, sandalwood and pine tar, which gives an impression of burnt wood. The base pairs patchouli, cedarwood, vanilla and labdanum.
Decision 42 is worn in autumn and winter, by day or by night: a cold day, a walk in the forest, an evening when you are happy to wear an intense fragrance.
Three woody fragrances in our catalogue share many of its materials: Abu Dhabi by Memo Paris brings together bergamot, pink pepper, cardamom, incense, patchouli, labdanum and vanilla; Interlude Man, from the same house, finds bergamot, incense, labdanum, patchouli and sandalwood again; Drunk Lovers by Born To Stand Out pairs bergamot, cedarwood, sandalwood, vanilla and patchouli.
