Tolu is built around the balsam of the same name, a resin smelling of vanilla and caramel. Juniper, orange blossom and clary sage open it with freshness, the better to reveal its softness.
At heart, orchid, geranium and lily of the valley bring a light floral touch; the base, of tolu balsam, tonka bean, golden frankincense and amber, wraps the skin in a luminous warmth. A tender, elegant amber without heaviness.

Tolu in detail
Ormonde Jayne, a British perfumery devoted to rare materials, makes its fragrances in its own English workshop. Tolu, composed by its founder Linda Pilkington and dated 2002 by the house, is built around tolu balsam, a South American resin, soft and luminous.
The official pyramid opens on juniper berries, orange blossom and clary sage, an aromatic, floral start. The heart pairs orchid, geranium and lily of the valley. The base brings together tolu balsam, with its vanilla and cinnamon accents, tonka bean, incense and amber for a warm, golden foundation.
Tolu is worn in the evening, in autumn and winter: a dinner, a night by the fire, a celebration.
Three amber fragrances in our catalogue share its materials: Ambre 114 by Histoires de Parfums brings together geranium, amber and tonka bean; Epic Woman by Amouage pairs geranium, amber and incense in a spicy amber; Zafferano by Acqua di Parma finds geranium, orange blossom and tonka bean again around saffron.
