Alberto Morillas

Originally from Seville and trained in Geneva, Alberto Morillas has composed since the 1970s at the fragrance house Firmenich. He is behind some of the most widely worn fragrances in the world, such as CK One and Acqua di Giò.

He also founded his own house, Mizensir. For Kilian Paris he signed Good girl gone Bad, a bouquet of white flowers.

Career and creations

A master perfumer at dsm-firmenich, Alberto Morillas was, according to the fragrance company, the very first perfumer honoured by the Fragrance Foundation with a lifetime achievement award. He grew up in Seville, where the patio of the family home captured scents like a bottle: the well, the medlar trees, clean laundry and jasmine from the garden. The Atlantic Ocean of his holidays still moves him. Working closely with research chemists, he blends natural techniques with synthetic molecules, several of which he helped bring to life. Yet he keeps his doubts: for him, a formula is like a well-written sentence, whose impact comes from the emotion with which its words are brought together.

For Kilian Paris, he composed Good girl gone Bad, in The Narcotics family: apricot-tinged osmanthus absolute, orange blossom and May rose open it, before an explosion of three temptress flowers, tuberose, jasmine and narcissus.
