Ormonde Woman was one of the house's very first fragrances, and remains its most singular. Cardamom and coriander open on the freshness of cut grass, before black hemlock appears, a dark, resinous conifer wood.
Violet and jasmine slip in like light in an undergrowth; the base, of vetiver, cedar, sandalwood and amber, prolongs the hushed atmosphere. A woody, mysterious fragrance, at once austere and sensual.

Ormonde Woman in detail
Ormonde Jayne is a modern British perfumery devoted to rarely used materials and made in its own English workshop. Ormonde Woman, composed by its founder Linda Pilkington and dated 2002 by the house, is a dark, green woody fragrance that evokes a conifer forest crossed with flowers.
The official pyramid begins with a spicy, green top: cardamom, coriander and green notes. The heart is the most singular part: black hemlock, a conifer note, sits alongside violet and jasmine. The base brings together vetiver, cedarwood, amber and sandalwood, which give the composition its depth.
Ormonde Woman is worn in spring, autumn and winter, by day or by night: a walk in the woods, a quiet evening, a dinner.
Three woody fragrances in our catalogue come close: Bosco by Sospiro shares its jasmine, amber, vetiver and sandalwood; Gris Charnel by BDK Parfums finds cardamom, vetiver and sandalwood again; Mojave Ghost by Byredo pairs sandalwood, violet, cedarwood and vetiver.
